BBC 成立新的「宗教與信念常設會議」，取代原有的「中央宗教顧問委員會」，為旗下的宗教節目提供意見，新組織的成員包括了無神論者。

英國人文學會的成員哥布臣（Andrew Copson）獲邀加入新組織。英國人文學會的宗旨包括「結束宗教在公共領域──包括廣播領域──的特權位置」。一般預計哥布臣將要求在 BBC 第 4 台的《今日思想》節目中，增加人文學者的參與。英國著名無神論學者基寧（A C Grayling）表示這是長久以來等待的轉捩點，傳統對靈性和心靈的思考方法正被檢討。...

The Independent report mentioned "addition of humanism to a GCSE religious studies syllabus". To me, this is more significant than a minor change in a radio programme or an atheist bus or a scular student group.
