A Cantonese pop song on theology (YouTube, Chinese)

An unlikely form of theological discourse. But it is. A Cantonese pop song reflecting on many theological issues.

(KTV) www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvBqdDuUlCQ

Repeat * #

We need new ways to talk about "belief" and "unbelief". We need a realistic and loving liberal religion that even an Atheist can love. ---Rev Brian Covell, www.thirdunitarianchurch.org

"最後誰能答話" ("In the end, who can answer me?")

My comment:

Yes, we've got no answer. God is silent. What is the difference between an absolutely silent God and a non-existent God?

Some say that God is not silent; God has spoken. Some say that God has spoken in the Bible, but more claim that God has spoken in the Koran. Some say that Jesus has come, but Mithras, as well as some contemporaries of Jesus, have also been claimed to be God. Some say that God has spoken in the history of Hebrews, but other tribes have claimed the same. More importantly, God is not talking to us now (even if He had talked to some ancient tribes as claimed).

Some say that they can "feel" God, but anybody can claim "feeling" anything. Some say that God is "the ground of being" (and hence cannot talk), but the so-called "ground of being" can be given any name, why not simply call it the Universe? Obviously, God has not talked to me personally. I've got no answer. God is silent to me.

The trouble is: a God who does not exist is better than a God who exists but remains absolutely silent. If I have no father, that is okay. If my father does not talk to me nor see me throughout my life, I would call that an irresponsible father. Be mercy to God, don't believe that He exists; if you believe that He exists, you are accusing Him of irresponsible fatherhood.
